Day 2: Santa Cruz
This morning we woke up and were greeted with this gorgeous view outside our friend's house, which is located in the woods...literally.
We then headed down towards DT Santa Cruz, but we made a stop at a park with this totally awesome covered bridge.
When we finally got to DT Santa Cruz, we found Cereality, a cereal store where you can choose different kinds of cereal, toppings, milk, etc...so of course, we had to stop by and see...
We ended our night with a nice BBQ and a little music lesson from K's daddy. =)

Day 1: Monterey / Santa Cruz
As many of you may know, Jimmy and I are taking a trip up and down the coast of California to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. We left early (and I mean reeeally early) on Thursday to drive to our first destination: the Monterey Aquarium. It was my first time there, and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this aquarium was much more educational than all the other aquariums I've ever visited. I personally liked how they educated me on different types of seafood.

My Best Friend
This is C, my bestest friend. I have known her since kindergarten when we were little Lincoln Lions. We then went to Casimir Middle School, North High, and then to UCSD. Isn't she cute? Just in case you boys are wondering, she likes Godiva chocolate, bouquet of assorted flowers, ice wine, and a great meal.
Here are my favorites...

Merci Beaucoup
One thing I've been trying to do is say "thank you" more often. I don't say this enough, and I know that I'm not the only one that feels this way. For instance, my husband came home the other day with a fresh haircut. While this does not equate to a "he came home with tulips" or "he came home with a box of Godiva chocolates", it still meant a lot of me, considering how busy we are. He knows that I absolutely completely HATE it when his hair grows out, so he decided to get it cut before I start complaining. THANK YOU!
Last Friday, I came home and found out that the house was completely cleaned. The dishes were done, the laundry was going, our many shoes were put away, and the pile of junk that had been cluttering our dining table was neatly organized. THANK YOU!
Lastly, my husband changed the kitchen sponge. Yes, the kitchen sponge. I hate having to get the new ones out because its way in the back of our cabinet, and is impossible to get it out without knocking the Lysol, 409, and the stain remover. THANK YOU! *mwuah*

And since a post is not complete without a photo, here's what I got from my school administrators as a "thank you" for teacher appreciation week...a cool little flashdrive with our school mascot. GO KNIGHTS!

"hood"ing ceremony
I have always enjoyed going to graduation ceremonies. I know many people get bored, but there is something about graduation that makes me feel all mushy inside. Why not? It's a day to celebrate individual acheivements.
Last Thusday, Jimmy and I had the honor to attend our dear friend's hooding ceremony at UCLA. She recieved a Doctorate in Public Education. Here are some photos.
Inside the beautiful Royce Hall.
Totally excited to see her mom!
It's almost her!!
Me and Dr. M. Congrats!

Retirement
For the last 2 faithful years, I had this totally cute pink panther cell phone thing-a-ma-jiggy hanging off my black chocolate cell phone. Now, I must retire it. For the last several months, I have been having problems with this thing falling off every five minutes.
It's been good. It was actually helpful since it helped me identify my phone from others (my husband and two of his closest friends have the chocolate). Here's the photo!

AHEM!
Once in awhile, I think I'm totally awesome. Like that time when Jimmy bet me $20 to go and do my final presentation a week before it was due without any preparation. Or the time when I cooked up a meal for 6 in one hour, including an appetizer and a dessert.
BUT I think what I did yesterday beats everything I've done in the past. So, what did I do? I rode 26 miles on a bike from Bolsa Chica to Crystal Cove with my church friends. Now, if you know me, you know that I am definitely not the sporty type. No, I very much prefer to be on the cheering squad. Needless to say, I am very proud of myself. I only have one picture to show, since you probably don't want to see me looking totally exhausted and pathetic.
Here is my faithful helmet.
